Sport Education Program
The
American Sport Education Program is a Nationally recognized coaching
certification program. The
goal of the program was to raise the standard of interscholastic
coaching. Many states have
adopted the principle, Athletes first and
Winning Second, as their state requirements for coaches.
More than 38 states as of today utilize the ASEP program and
the state requirement for coaches in their state.
Numerous youth organizations and National Governing Bodies have
also implemented the ASEP Coaching Principles Education as their
coaching training tool.
Now,
this program available for coaches of all youth programs,
The Coaching Principles, Level I
, satisfies most coaching requirements of many states. It is non-sport specific but the coach develops coaching tools in
the areas of: coaching styles, coaching psychology,
communication skills, behavior modification skills, setting
performance skills, teaching sport skills effectively, training
skills, nutritional information, legal duties, self management and
sports administration.
For
students entering professional secondary education programs, coaching
will more than likely be an opportunity for them to share the sport
skills they have mastered. Being
fully prepared for the certification requirements of the states they
will teach in can be fulfilled on their own facility.
In
addition, the National Federation of State High School Associations
has collaborated with ASEP and developed the National Federation
Interscholastic Coaches Education Program,
resulting in a Nationally recognized certification program. Another benefit of the certification is the one million dollar
coaching liability insurance.
The
ASEP program is now available at your location.
Nationally
certified instructors George and Debbie Brenzovich will provide the
program.
